The Ancients were the oldest beings known to exist in the Cosmos. They existed before anything else, even the Evertree and the incredibly long-lived Mycela, wandering the Cosmos until the Sky Father called them all together. With combined voices, they sang the Seed into being that would grow into the Evertree. They created stars to nourish the Evertree, then placed the Song of Myora in its heart, to grow new Worlds and spread life throughout the Cosmos. When they saw that it thrived, the Ancients departed.
No one knows what has happened to them since. (But if you see them, be sure to let Book know.)
Known Ancients
Few remember even the names of Ancients. The Sky Father was one who brought the rest of the Ancients together. Observance Days are meant to honour the Sky Father.

- The Sky-Maiden - (Although the Sky-Maiden is mentioned as an alternate name for the Lykora, none of the lore within the game indicates the Lykora are anything more than creature-level intelligence.)
