Mining is a way to gather Resources found both in Alaria and on Worlds in Grow: Song of the Evertree. The Apprentice can mine Rocks, Boulders, and Mining Points by using the Mallet to break apart the Boulders or Nodes, or pick up the Rocks, and sell the resulting items to Brokin for EverKoin. Unlike stone rubble the Apprentice needs to break down as part of cleansing a World of The Withering's influence, Mining items require the Mallet and cannot be chopped apart with the Axe.
Rock
A Rock is a randomly-generated Resource that will appear in each World. When approaching a Rock, the Apprentice will have two options: gathering the Rock, or breaking the Rock with their Mallet to extract Myora. Once the Rock is gathered, the Apprentice can either give the Rock to Coppertop in order to extract various Essence (results will depend on the World Seed), or sell it to Brokin in exchange for EverKoin.
Some Rocks may be used to fulfill Requests from Residents as well. Rocks are also needed to solve some Puzzles; for these, any Rock can be equipped from the Apprentice's Inventory, as it is not necessary to find a Rock from the World where the Puzzle appeared in order to solve it.
Each Rock will be classified as a Common, Uncommon, or Rare Rock. The appearance of Rocks varies depending on the Biome (or Biomes) represented on its World. Occasionally it can be difficult to visually distinguish a Rock from a Bedrock Outcrop Terrain Feature if the Apprentice is not close enough to trigger the appearance of the interaction-options bubble.

Boulder
Boulders are bigger versions of Rocks which can be found on Worlds planted by the Apprentice in the branches of the Evertree. A Boulder requires several swings of a Mallet to break and cannot be picked up. When breaking a Boulder, the Apprentice will receive Myora, Essence, Minerals, Gemstones, Ore, and/or Rocks. Rocks gained in this way can be equipped from the Apprentice's Inventory and used to solve Puzzles or take a fun screenshot.
Breaking Boulders is also a way to earn Tickets during the Festival event called Boulder-Bashing Day (breaking Rocks does not count towards this event).
The appearance of Boulders varies depending on the Biome they appear in; each World features at least two Boulder forms and at least one Boulder color, both determined randomly.

Mining Point
Mining Points are found in Caves (both in Alaria and on Worlds) as well as outdoors on some Strange Worlds, and can be broken by using the Mallet. When broken, each Node will provide the Apprentice with varying rewards including Myora, Minerals, Ore, Fossils, or Gemstones. An individual Mining Point takes multiple blows to break completely, with rewards given at each blow. Completely broken Mining Points, both on Worlds and in Caves in Alaria, will eventually regenerate, but not on the same day they were broken. Breaking Mining Points also grants tickets for the Boulder Bashing Day Festival.
