Book is one of the two artificial constructs who act as mentors to the Apprentice through the course of Grow: Song of the Evertree. Book is a large, white hardback with gold binding, yellow decoupage leaves with golden stems decorating the cover, and an anthropomorphic face embedded in the cover, complete with eyes that have large white, wing-like lashes, white eyebrows, a slit for a mouth, a swoosh of white hair at the top, and wrinkles to indicate a chin and doublechin. A set of round-framed glasses rest on the face, attached to the side of the cover with a string of pearls. Book sits on a stand in a small, curved nook full of regular books, inside of Alchemy House in Alchemist's Grotto.
Book performs the function of records-keeper for the Everheart Alchemists guild, which is currently composed of Book, Coppertop and the Apprentice. Book can be accessed (after a certain point early on in the Main Plotline), by pressing B on keyboard or the right direction pad on PC Controller. This can be done whether or not the Apprentice is in the Alchemy House. Accessing Book will allow the Apprentice to review their Goals, any open Districts or currently active Quests.

- Book and Coppertop are the only other members of the Everheart Alchemists guild, but are not alchemists in their own right, being constructs created through alchemy.
- According to Elderkin, the eldest and wisest of the Everkin, Book and Coppertop were preceded by Scroll and Cauldron, who themselves were preceded by Carving and Jug - who Elderkin found to be down-to-earth characters, what with being made of clay...
