“ | Alchemy is the basis of all technology. It illuminates our lights, pumps our water, and heats our homes on a chilly night. | ” |

Alchemy is the art of shaping the Song of Myora and using it to craft all manner of items and artifacts. Only the Aerum appear to have the ability to perform Alchemy, and while it is very powerful, overusing it causes an imbalance in the Harmony of the Evertree, eventually resulting in the breaking of the Song and the arrival of The Withering. Alchemy plays a central role in Grow: Song of the Evertree as the players take on the role of the Apprentice, the last Everheart Alchemist.
The Apprentice uses Alchemy in two ways: to break down items into their most basic form, known as Essence, which is then used by the Apprentice to craft new World Seeds, which can be planted in the boughs of the Evertree, restoring the flow of Myora and eventually, repairing the Song and the Evertree itself.
Alchemy helped Alaria prosper before the devastation, and Coppertop firmely believes that it will be Alchemy that will restore it again.
