The Leapgates are small doors hidden throughout several Districts of Alaria, providing a network of shortcuts which the Apprentice can use to rapidly travel vast distances without use of Kazumi or the Districts' Everkin Doors.
Entering one of the Leapgate doors takes the Apprentice to a hub pocket dimension that can be exited through any of the other Leapgates, though the destination district must first be freed from The Withering to be accessible from the pocket dimension.
While no written record exists to explain the nature of the Leapgates, the physics-defying method of travel and Everkin iconography within the hub suggest that Everkin were the creators of this miniature transportation network. This hypothesis is also supported by the small size of the doors themselves and similar architectural style to buildings found throughout Where-Ever.
Note that while not all districts may have a Leapgate (as of the Care and Prosperity update), the distribution of exits still allows most districts to be reached quickly.
