The Vault of Searching is the first Vault the Apprentice finds after the Treeheart Chamber. Located in the mountains near the Meadow Quarters, the Vault is at first covered in vines of The Withering, until the Apprentice has spoken with Elderkin in the Treeheart Chamber and returned the first Song Fragment to its proper location.
The Vault is composed of several large chambers joined by winding corridors. Withering vines are found throughout, blocking some paths and hiding a few secrets. Each chamber has a large sliding-block Puzzle which must be solved before the Apprentice can proceed. There are a number of small Chests, breakable pottery and even an Everkid hiding amongst the many passages leading to the Song Fragment of Awareness (and many are down redundant paths, so doubling-back may be necessary to collect all the loot).
Once the Apprentice opens the final chamber, a shortcut opens, making exit from the Vault a straight shot from the Fragment chamber.
As with all Vaults, time does not pass while inside this Vault, so the Apprentice can take their time solving its Puzzles. This particular Vault, while a tad confusing with its multiple passages, does not have any difficult platforming challenges, dangerous water areas, or other concerning hazards.
| In the initial room, step on the pressure plate in front of the top left door, then continue down that hallway.
In the first Puzzle room, use the Mallet to move the blocks until they are on the glowing tiles. If stuck, or the Puzzle gets into an unsolvable state, step on the pressure plate at the top of the room to reset the Puzzle. Once all of the blocks are in place, the doors to the next area will open. Both corridors lead to the same T-intersection. Turn down this third hallway and follow it. Upon reaching another T-intersection, the Apprentice can again go either way, as both directions lead to the same place. The second Puzzle room has the same type of sliding-block Puzzle as the first. Use the Mallet to move the blocks, resetting if needed. Once the blocks are in place, a single door will open. Follow the hallway to the third Puzzle room. The third Puzzle room is again the same type as the first two. Once solved, two doors will open. Again, both passageways lead to the same area. This time, be sure to explore all of the hallways, as there are many Chests, as well as pottery vases which can be broken for a small Myora award. Upon reaching the first T-intersection, follow the new hallway. This will lead to another T-intersection, from which both sides lead to the same place. Again, there is loot on both sides, and an Everkid hiding behind a loop of Withering vine. Either corridor will lead to another T-intersection, where the Apprentice should turn down the hallway with water on the floor. At the end of this hallway is the final T intersection. Once again, both sides lead to the same destination. Once the Apprentice exits through one of the newly-opened doors back into the entrance room, the door to the Fragment chamber will open. The Song Fragment of Awareness can then be claimed. To leave, simply turn around and leave the room, continuing straight through the entrance room to the Vault door. |
